Scotland

Edinburgh and the Highlands

The flight from Oslo to Edinburgh was fine, but the landing (with Holas Airlines) was a little interesting as the suspension on the front wheel broke and we thumped and bounced to the terminal.
For Edinburgh, we had an apartment, which was great for doing washing and having our own breakfast. I had vegimite on toast and all was well in the world.
Edinburgh has a lovely feel to it - the people were very cheerful and friendly. We had a look at the castle as you'd expect, and walked the high street, enjoying all the celtic wares and kilts.

Had a look at the Royal Yacht Britainnia too (for our Mums).
Spent the next two days driving around Scotland. First trip was to Fort William, then back through glasgow.

Next day was up to Inverness (less than inspiring), then over to Aberdeen - interesting but grey. Back through the golf town of St Andrew's which was quite lovely.
Reluctantly left Edinburgh, with no where near enough time for a proper look - we'll have to come back.
Exited Scotland at Gretna Green, and managed not to get married there.....
