Us and a few million others, so finding a good viewing spot was a challenge, but getting home was an even bigger one. The metro was fortunately patrolled by many police, wall to wall people and a sardine squash into each train. An experience I'll be happy not to repeat. All worth it though.

Out in the middle of nowhere is the Stonehenge carpark which costs €3 to park there. No alternative as the roads are all thin with lots of traffic. Then they wanted to charge us another €6.50 each to walk through the gate and around the stones at a distance, so we opted for a look through the fence. Obviously we don't mind paying for things when there is some value, but this was ridiculous.

They were very interested to hear about the new 112m cats in Japan, and particularly about the fuel consumption, as theirs is very high due to four gas turbines. On the day we sailed, it was the first sailing under their new fuel saving slow steaming rules. About half way over, the chief was asked to shut down the two main engines, to run on the other two. This is to save them 10% on fuel over the year. the Captain was very proud of his Finnish built craft. And yes, it was raining when we arrived in Ireland.

Reluctantly left Edinburgh, with no where near enough time for a proper look - we'll have to come back.
